What do Enrichment and Coding cover in Singapore?

Enrichment sits outside the examinable syllabus. In Singapore it usually means Olympiad Mathematics - SASMO, NMOS, SMOPS and the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad - along with Science Olympiad preparation, creative and expository writing, and the reasoning practice used for the Gifted Education Programme screening and Direct School Admission portfolios. These are not extra drilling on school topics; they are harder, less familiar problems that reward genuine thinking.

Coding runs on two tracks. The informal track begins with block-based Scratch in the primary years and moves into Python, micro:bit and app building - the ground MOE's Code for Fun programme introduces in schools. The formal track is examinable: O-Level Computing at Secondary level and H2 Computing at Junior College, both of which carry substantial programming coursework alongside written papers.

Only if their school syllabus is already secure. Enrichment stretches a student who has the foundations; for a student with gaps it adds pressure without addressing the cause. We assess this first and will tell you honestly which your child needs.
Which coding language do you start with?+
Scratch for most primary students, because block coding removes syntax errors and lets a child build something real immediately. Python follows once they are ready, and is the language used for both O-Level and H2 Computing.
Do you teach the examinable Computing syllabuses?+
