Enrichment sits outside the examinable syllabus. In Singapore it usually means Olympiad Mathematics - SASMO, NMOS, SMOPS and the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad - along with Science Olympiad preparation, creative and expository writing, and the reasoning practice used for the Gifted Education Programme screening and Direct School Admission portfolios. These are not extra drilling on school topics; they are harder, less familiar problems that reward genuine thinking.
Coding runs on two tracks. The informal track begins with block-based Scratch in the primary years and moves into Python, micro:bit and app building - the ground MOE's Code for Fun programme introduces in schools. The formal track is examinable: O-Level Computing at Secondary level and H2 Computing at Junior College, both of which carry substantial programming coursework alongside written papers.
At Jaya's Academy these are taught one-to-one, which matters more here than in a syllabus subject. Enrichment work has no fixed pace - a strong student should be allowed to run, and a student who is stuck needs the problem taken apart rather than repeated.
Our tutors distinguish clearly between enrichment and remediation. A student who has not secured their school Mathematics is not served by Olympiad problems, and we will say so plainly rather than sell an extra class - enrichment is for students who are ready for it.

Primary enrichment focuses on problem types the school syllabus does not reach, and on block-based coding where a child can build something real without fighting syntax. The aim at this stage is appetite rather than credentials.
Secondary is where coding can become a subject rather than a hobby. Students move from Scratch into Python, and those taking O-Level Computing get syllabus teaching plus support on the programming coursework, which is a large and plannable share of the grade.
At JC the work is genuinely advanced: algorithms, object-oriented design, databases and networks, alongside the H2 Computing project. Students not taking Computing formally often use these sessions for university preparation instead.
We establish whether a student is actually ready for enrichment. If the school syllabus is not secure we will say so and recommend subject tutoring first - enrichment on an unstable foundation helps nobody.
