Mathematics & Statistics
NCEA Level 1 Mathematics and Statistics - number, algebra, measurement, geometry and the statistical enquiry cycle, plus preparation for the compulsory numeracy co-requisite.
Sciences
Biology
NCEA Level 1 Biology - cells, genetic variation, life processes and ecology, taught against the Level 1 Achievement Standards including practical investigation.
Chemistry
NCEA Level 1 Chemistry - atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions and investigation, taught against the Level 1 Achievement Standards.
Physics
NCEA Level 1 Physics - mechanics, energy, waves and electricity, with the practical investigation and calculation skills Level 1 standards assess.
Earth & Space Science
NCEA Level 1 Earth and Space Science - geological processes, the atmosphere, astronomy and New Zealand's own extreme natural environment.
Humanities
History
NCEA Level 1 History - historical inquiry, sources and perspectives, with the evidence-based writing Level 1 History standards assess.
Geography
NCEA Level 1 Geography - natural and cultural environments, geographic skills and New Zealand case studies, taught against the Level 1 standards.

NCEA Level 1 Economics - scarcity, demand and supply, markets and the New Zealand economy, with the diagram technique Level 1 standards require.
