Why choose us

Mathematics and Statistics at NCEA Level 1

Level 1 maths is where algebra either becomes automatic or becomes a problem for the next three years. We make sure it is the former.

  • Algebra drilled to fluency, because everything later depends on it
  • Statistical enquiry taught as a method students can reuse
  • Numeracy co-requisite preparation built in

Common Questions, Answered

Can't find what you need? Our academic advisors are available across New Zealand time zones.

Does this cover the numeracy co-requisite?+
Yes. The numeracy co-requisite is a separate compulsory assessment, and we prepare students for it alongside their Level 1 maths standards.
My child wants to take Calculus at Level 3. What matters now?+
Algebraic fluency above everything. Level 3 Calculus is far more accessible to students whose Level 1 algebra was genuinely secure.
Are internals or externals more important?+
Both count, and course endorsement requires credits from each. We plan across both rather than treating externals as the only real assessment.
