Common Questions, Answered

Can't find what you need? Our academic advisors are available across New Zealand time zones.

Is Year 9 and 10 maths assessed by NZQA?+
No. It is assessed in school, which makes it the ideal time to close an algebra gap - the same gap in Year 11 costs credits.
My child wants to take Calculus eventually. What matters now?+
Algebraic fluency, without question. Level 3 Calculus is difficult for students whose Year 10 algebra was shaky, and straightforward for those whose was solid.
Do you cover both Mathematics and Statistics strands?+
Yes. NCEA Level 1 assesses both, so we build both from Year 9 rather than treating statistics as an afterthought.
