Why choose us

Science at Junior Secondary

Year 10 is when students decide whether to carry science on. Confidence built here is what makes Biology, Chemistry or Physics a realistic choice at Level 1.

  • Each discipline taught in its own right, not as general science
  • Practical and graphing skills built for Level 1 internals
  • Progress checked against NZC Curriculum Levels 4 and 5

Common Questions, Answered

Can't find what you need? Our academic advisors are available across New Zealand time zones.

Should my child take all three sciences at NCEA?+
It depends on their goals. We help students work out which sciences their intended pathway actually needs, and make sure Year 10 leaves those options open.
My child finds the maths in physics hard. Can you help?+
Yes - and it is usually the maths, not the physics. We work on rearranging formulas and unit handling alongside the concepts.
Does this count toward NCEA?+
No, Years 9 and 10 are school-assessed. It is preparation, which is exactly why it is a low-risk time to fix gaps.
