Why it works
What Are High School History & Geography?
From Grade 7 onward, Ontario splits Social Studies into History and Geography, then into named credit courses - CHC2D Canadian History since World War I, CGC1D Issues in Canadian Geography, and CHV2O Civics and Citizenship. British Columbia continues Social Studies through Grade 10 before branching into specialised Grade 11 and 12 courses such as 20th Century World History and BC First Peoples. What changes at this level is the assessment: students stop recalling and start arguing from evidence, which is where most of them need help.
- 01 Matched to the course code and provincial curriculum
- 02 Same dedicated tutor for continuity
- 03 Source analysis and essay structure taught explicitly
